Uttarakhand’s Ranikhet and Almora, fuel only for emergency, 46 people died
46 people died in rain incidents across the state and the Chief Minister PS Dhami has declared Rs 4 lakh compensation for their families.

Uttarakhand’s Ranikhet and Almora stay cut-off from the plains and the former was forced to ration fuel for emergency services for a second consecutive day after landslides in the Khairna and Garampani areas blocked roads. It is little or no fuel available in Ranikhet what is left has been reserved for emergency services. Low voltage electricity has been restored after 24 hours and fiber optic cable has been cut in various locations.
In Almora, seven people died yesterday. The visuals were shared by the NDRF and show full sections of what were paved roads covered in mud and rubble with only the metal barrier providing any indication there is a road buried under the debris.
At least 46 people have died in rain-related incidents across the state, senior police officer Nilesh Anand Bharne told news agency PTI 47 dies with most deaths in the Kumaon region. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami declared Rs 4 lakh compensation for the families of those killed and Rs 1.9 lakh for those whose houses have been destroyed.
