US Navy handed MH-60R helicopters to India
On Friday, a ceremony witnessed the ceremonial handover of the helicopters from the US Navy to the Indian Navy at the Naval Air Station North Island, or NAS North Island, in San Diego.
The United States Navy has handed over the first two MH-60R Multi-Role Helicopters MRH (Sikorsky helicopter) to the Indian Navy, further solidifying the India-US defence alliance.
The Indian Navy is purchasing 24 of these helicopters from Lockheed Martin through foreign military sales from the US government at a cost of USD2.4 billion.
