After almost a year, the ruling of the case has come. The decision marked the victory of the Department of Justice which accused Google of making a monopoly by using its influence crushing the competitor and making its search engine default on all the devices.
After having carefully considered and weighed the witness testimony and evidence, the court reached the following conclusion: Google is a monopolist, and it has acted as one to maintain its monopoly according to the court ruling The decision was taken after keeping testimony from the high executives of GOOGLE, APPLE, and MICROSOFT from the last year 10-weak trial.

Google Has been spending billions of dollars to make its search engine default on every device. It spent $2 Billion alone in 2021. Mehta refuses to acknowledge Google's argument that their contract doesn't violate the Sherman Act but Mehta wrote in his 200 pages report “The prospect of losing tens of billions in guaranteed revenue from Google — which presently come at little to no cost to Apple — disincentivizes Apple from launching its own search engine when it otherwise has built the capacity to do so,”
Department of Justice made an argument that Google spending so much on monopoly helps them to artificially increase the price for its advertiser without investing in getting their product better. which is a form of pure monopoly. We can see the Department of Justice is trying to do the same thing to Google that they did to Microsoft in 1990.

Mehta ruled out the argument that the Google search engine is only at the top because of its monopoly and acknowledged its quality aspect but he also wrote in his report“This evidence does not reflect a principled practice of quality-adjusted pricing, but rather shows Google creating higher-priced auctions with the primary purpose of driving long-term revenues.”
President of global affairs of Google Kent Walker said “This decision recognizes that Google offers the best search engine, but concludes that we shouldn’t be allowed to make it easily available,” he added. “As this process continues, we will remain focused on making products that people find helpful and easy to use.” Google is set to make an appeal against the court ruling.
