India Can Influence Putin to End Ukraine War: On Wednesday, the United Nations drew attention to that India can encourage Putin to end the Ukraine war because India has close ties with Russia, though India can convince President Vladimir Putin to end the ongoing war in Ukraine. This statement came after the two-day visit of PM Narendra Modi to Moscow when the two leaders flaunted their rapport.

A spokesperson from the White House, Karine Jean-Pierre, when asked about the Indian prime minister visiting Russia, said, "India is a strategic partner with whom we engage in full and frank dialogue, including their relationship with Russia, and we've talked about this before. So we think it's critical that all countries, including India, support efforts to realise an enduring and just peace when it comes to Ukraine."

Karine Jean-Pierre also said, "We also believe India's long-standing relationship with Russia gives it the ability to urge President Putin to end his brutal war, an unprovoked war in Ukraine. It is for President Putin to end. President Putin started the war, and he can end the war."

Jean-Pierre made remarks on PM Modi's assurance to the world community, that India is committed to peace and ready to cooperate to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

PM Narendra Modi showed his concerns for the 29-month-long war in Ukraine, in the bilateral talks with Putin on Tuesday. He said, "simply explodes" at the killing of innocent children, a day after a deadly Russian missile attack on a children's hospital in Kyiv.

PM Modi delivered a message to show the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the Ukraine conflict, by saying, "For a bright future for the future generations, peace is most essential. No solution is possible on the battlefield. Solutions and peace talks are not successful in the midst of bombs, guns and bullets, and we have to find the path to peace through dialogue."

Putin thanked PM Modi for finding a peaceful solution to the Ukraine issue.

The Russian premier said, "I am grateful to you for the attention you pay to the most pressing issues, particularly trying to find ways to resolve the Ukraine crisis, primarily through peaceful means," during the meeting at the Kremin, reported TASS news agency.
