Bank holidays for total 12 days in July 2024
In July, banks will be closed because of the combination of regional and national holidays for a total of 12 days. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has officially declared July 3, 6, 8, 9, 16, and 17 as public holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act. This Act specifically governs the issuance of cheques and promissory notes. Consequently, any transactions involving these instruments will not be possible during the specified holiday dates.

On July 6, 2024, MHIP Day is celebrated by Mizoram's largest women's organization, Mizo Hmeichhe Insuihkhawm Pawl (MHIP), which stands for 'binding women together.'
On July 8, 2024, Manipur celebrates Kang, a ten-day Rath Yatra where Lord Jagannath leaves his temple and is pulled by devotees in a vehicle called "Kang."
On July 9, 2024, Sikkim celebrates Drukpa Tshe-zi, it's a Buddhist festival commemorating Gautam Buddha’s first sermon.
On July 17, 2024, Muharram/Ashura is celebrated It is an important day for Muslims, as they honor the martyrdom of Imam Hussein.
On July 17, 2024, U Tirot Sing Day is celebrated in Meghalaya, as this day recognizes the bravery and resistance of U Tirot Sing, a freedom fighter.

In addition, banks are closed on the four Sundays of July 7, 14, 21, and 28 and the second and fourth Saturdays of every month except January and December. The second and fourth Saturdays are on July 13 and 27.
