UP News: ED raids Mukhtar Ansari's house in Ghazipur, action against close relatives too
The SDM of the area with heavy police force attached three houses in Gorabazar area, Rajdepur and Phoolanpur. According to the police, these properties were bought with money earned from criminal activities. The SP said that the action against Ansari and his gang members would continue in future also.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided the house of Mukhtar Ansari in Ghazipur. Raids are on at Mukhtar Ansari's family and his close ones. According to the information, the ED team has raided three places in the district headquarters. At the same time, raids are going on in Mohammadabad as well. The raids are also going on at the district headquarters of Vikram Agrahari, owner of Khan Bus Service, Ganesh Dutt Mishra.
The ED's grip on the family of Bahubali Mukhtar Ansari was continuously tightening and today the ED has raided. Mukhtar Ansari's MLA son Abbas Ansari and younger son Umar Ansari were questioned by the ED in May this year. Both the sons of Mukhtar were questioned by ED officials for several hours at the ED office in Prayagraj.
Significantly, in March 2021, the ED had registered a money laundering case against Mukhtar Ansari. Ansari has been booked for possession of government land by preparing forged documents in 2020. Not only this, a case is registered against him in Lucknow for fraudulently acquiring property, fraudulently withdrawing MLA funds. Based on these three cases, the ED has registered a case of money laundering against Mukhtar Ansari.
In the same month, the Ghazipur district administration had attached properties worth crores in the name of Afsha Ansari, wife of Mukhtar Ansari. Mukhtar Ansari's wife Afsha has a property worth about Rs 2.25 crore which was attached. The SDM of the area with heavy police force attached three houses in Gorabazar area, Rajdepur and Phoolanpur.
