UP MLC Election Results: BJP gets absolute majority with 33 out of 36 seats in the Legislative Council, SP clean bold with 0 seats
BJP has registered a landslide victory in the election of 36 Legislative Council seats from the Local Authority Constituency 33 out of 36 seats have come into BJP's account. With this, the BJP has got an absolute majority in the Legislative Council. The Samajwadi Party did not even appear in the contest in these elections, as it could not even secure a single seat.

UP MLC Election Results: BJP has registered a landslide victory in the election of 36 Legislative Council seats from the Local Authority Constituency. 33 out of 36 seats have come into BJP's account. With this, the BJP has got an absolute majority in the Legislative Council. The Samajwadi Party did not even appear in the contest in these elections, as it could not even secure a single seat. Apart from the BJP, three independent candidates have also won.
In the election of MLC held in Barabanki district, the candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victoriously. BJP candidate Angad Kumar Singh defeated Rajesh Yadav Raju of SP by 1745 votes. While Angad Kumar Singh got 2272 votes, SP candidate Rajesh Yadav Raju got 527 votes. Independent candidate Dheeraj Yadav had to be satisfied with 7 votes. During the counting of votes, 21 votes were declared invalid. This is the first time that a BJP candidate has won the MLC election after independence. Last time, SP candidate Rajesh Yadav Raju was elected MLC.
The counting of votes has been completed for the Gonda-Balrampur seat. BJP's Awadhesh Kumar Singh alias Manju Singh defeated SP candidate Dr. Bhanu Kumar Tripathi by 4401 votes. In the polling held on April 9 at 26 centers in Gonda and Balrampur, 4824 voters had cast their votes. BJP candidate Awadhesh Kumar Singh alias Manju Singh got 4572 votes, and SP candidate Dr. Bhanu Kumar Tripathi got only 171 votes. Independent candidate Anand Swaroop Yadav alias Pappu Yadav got 17 votes. 21 votes were invalid in the voting.
Lotus portrayed its political hegemony in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly too, where Maharaj Singh of Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious after defeating the SP Candidate.
