The security of the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs has been beefed up following the recent Intelligence Bureau report and threat assessment. The armed squad took up the task after the Ministry of Home Affairs directed the CRPF VIP Security Wing to ensure the security of the 57-year-old politician.
The security of Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai has been increased. The Ministry of Home Affairs has now upgraded the security of the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs to Z category for the entire country. Earlier, the Central Reserve Police Force provided him 'Z' category security only in West Bengal. However, after this order, he will now be provided with Z category security across the country. Sources gave this information on Tuesday.
After this order of the Ministry of Home Affairs, CRPF will now provide security to Nityanand Rai. They will now get this protection in any state across the country. CRPF personnel will be stationed around them round the clock. Earlier, during the Bengal assembly elections, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai had got Z category security of CRPF in the state. According to the information, Nityanand Rai was appointed BJP's observer during the Bengal assembly elections, during which he was provided with Z category security of CRPF. Apart from this, Nityanand Rai also got the security of the state.
