Union Home Minister Amit Shah said – Change is necessary in the training of police personnel
Shah, presiding over the review meeting of Central Police Training Institutes, said that use of technology and modern equipment in training of police forces is the need of the hour but at the same time basic policing should be focused and put into practice.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday that the training of policemen should be changed with time. He emphasized that there is a need to inculcate a sense of patriotism, discipline and sensitivity along with modern technologies.
Shah, presiding over the review meeting of Central Police Training Institutes, said that use of technology and modern equipment in training of police forces is the need of the hour but at the same time basic policing should be focused and put into practice.
"It is very important that the training of policemen is changed with the passage of time," he said in an official statement. The Home Minister stressed on both strictness and sensitivity in training and said that along with modern techniques, there is a need to inculcate a sense of patriotism, fitness, discipline, sensitivity and self-surrender in the police forces.
Presentations were made by Central Police Training Institutes emphasizing on the importance of right training at the right time to build the capabilities of policemen to provide prompt and effective response to the ever-changing nature of security challenges. The relative merits of hybrid learning and emerging training paradigms, training methods and techniques were discussed, including training needs, productivity of training resources, among others.
