The Karnataka High Court recently gave a decision on the matter stating, "Ours being a civilized society, no person in the name of religion, culture or the like can be permitted to do any act that disturbs public peace and tranquility. Endless agitations and closure of educational institutions indefinitely are not happy things to happen."
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sharma said, "How would a teacher know if a student is understanding or not, if they're wearing a hijab? No one said they wanted to wear a hijab 3 years ago?... Muslim community needs education, not hijab... political Islam is Congress sponsored." The Karnataka High Court said that the state government which ghas taken a decision to reopen educational institutions must refrain all students from wearing saffron shawls, scarves, hijab and any religious flag within the classroom.
