UK Foreign Secretary meets PM Modi, discusses strategic partnership issues

Raab is on a four-day visit to India from December 14 and he has held meetings and talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar, and the Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal on a very wide range of issues.
He is in India till December 17. Raab happens to be the first Foreign Minister to visit India for a bilateral talk since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, December 15, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Raab for four hours in the morning to discuss how to take India-UK ties to a higher level.
India believes that global politics have changed a lot and if the two countries work together their interests are better served.
The opening remarks of the External Affair Minister at Press Statement following the India-UK Ministerial Dialogue, said, “That will not only be building on our historical ties but also expressing our shared commitment to a multi-polar world. As democratic polities, market economies, and pluralistic societies, we can, we should and we will make a difference to the realization of a rules-based global order.”
It added, “The challenges posed by terrorism and radicalism were a shared concern. As India enters the UN Security Council next month, we look forward to working together with the UK on a range of global issues.”
