UK F‑35B Towed to Hangar at Thiruvananthapuram Airport
The advanced stealth aircraft will be operated by British aviation engineers in terms of accessing and performing the technical duties of the aircraft, which was grounded last month due to technical snag.

A Royal Navy fighter jet, which had been stranded at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport barring nearly a month was shifted to a designated facility on Sunday so that the British aviation engineers could take a glance at it.
Images of Kerala airport depict that the F-35B Lighting fighter jet is being pulled slowly to a hangar, where its repair will supposedly start.

Airport sources state that the advanced stealth aircraft will be under the evaluation and technical work being performed by a team of British aviation engineers. It landed after technical hitch whereby measures between Indian authorities and the UK were taken in order to enable repairs.
The fighter aircraft with a price tag of more than USD 110 million, that was termed as one of the most high-tech in the world, had emergency landed at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on June 14. It was under the curb of the airport as it was waiting to be fixed following a technical hitch.
British High Commission representative has stated that engineering team has arrived in India. “A UK engineering team has deployed to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to assess and repair the UK F-35B aircraft, which landed following an emergency diversion," the spokesperson said in a statement, as reported by news agency PTI.

The spokes person indicated that the UK has taken on the offer of a space in the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility of the airport, and are in talks of finalising arrangements with the concerned authorities.
The sources added, meanwhile, that the fighter jet was transferred to the MRO.
“In line with standard procedure, the aircraft will be moved following the arrival of UK engineers, who are carrying specialist equipment necessary for the movement and repair process," the statement said. “The UK remains very grateful for the continued support and collaboration of the Indian authorities and airport teams."
