UGC strict on women safety, instructions to run special campaign from higher educational institutions
UGC has taken this initiative when the new academic session has started in higher educational institutions. At such a time, cases of ragging and gender discrimination with women come to the fore in higher educational institutions.

Taking a tough stand on women's safety, the University Grants Commission (UGC) once again alerted all universities and higher educational institutions across the country and asked them to launch special campaigns to ensure this on campus. During this period, UGC has also advised to observe special fortnight till December 10 in institutions to prevent incidents related to gender discrimination. In which everyone has been asked to be informed about the provisions of the law made to prevent sexual harassment of women.

Apart from this, the UGC has also directed the institutes to settle pending cases related to sexual harassment of women by December 9. Along with this, the UGC has also asked to organize a workshop regarding this among the students and employees of the institute.
