ED has taken action in a case related to money laundering. The agency has attached properties worth crores of Shridhar Patankar, brother-in-law of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
The ED on Tuesday seized 11 residential flats built in Thane's Nilambari project. The estimated cost is Rs 6.45 crore. Sridhar Patankar is the brother of Rashmi Thackeray, wife of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. They are partners in the Pushpak group.
After this action of ED, once again in Maharashtra, a debate has started between the Center and the Maha Vikas Aghadi government regarding the use of central agencies. Till now the ministers and leaders of Mahavikas Aghadi were on the radar of ED, but after this action it is believed that the family of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has also come under the radar of the Central Investigation Agency.
