Samples were sent for genome sequencing after both got positive reports. The Omicron variant has been confirmed in its report. Samples of 6 other people, including a doctor who came in contact with them, have also been sent for genome sequencing after being found positive.
However, according to the report of NDTV, the travel report of the foreign national in whose report the Omicron variant has been found, has been issued by the Bangalore Municipal Corporation. It has been told in the report that the foreign national who had taken both the doses of the vaccine had reached Bengaluru on 20 November with a negative report. Due to his coming from 'at-risk countries', RT-PCR test was done at the airport itself.
After that he went to the hotel. He was found positive in the report on the same day. The government doctor went to the hotel and examined him. If no symptoms were found in him during the investigation, he was instructed to self-isolate. His sample was sent for genome sequencing on 22 November.
