Two killed in avalanche in Uttarakhand, 28 people trapped, sought help from Air Force

During the advanced training course of Nehru Mountaineering Institute, two instructors have died after Draupadi was avalanched in Danda. Both the trainers are said to be residents of Uttarkashi. The rescue team is busy in rescuing other trainees. It is being told that a team of 28 people of Nim had gone for advanced training in Draupadi's Danda area of Uttarkashi. At the same time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has informed Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about the incident over phone.

The government has also contacted the Air Force. Three helicopters will do a recce and then rescue work will be done. DIG SDRF Riddhim Agarwal informed that the SDRF team has taken off for the camp. The incident of breaking the iceberg came to the fore near Chorabari Glacier. In the last 10 days, the incident of breaking of iceberg was reported near Chaurabari Glacier just behind Kedarnath Dham.
Seven kilometers behind Kedarnath Dham, the avalanche was seen for the second time on Saturday, October 1, although it did not cause any damage. Earlier on September 22, an avalanche was seen behind the temple. For the study of which a five-member team of scientists from Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun has reached the spot. Teams of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and SDRF are also camping in Chorabari and monitoring there continuously.
