Twitter approached the High Court against the orders of the Central Government

Twitter has moved the Karnataka High Court against the validity of the orders of the Central Government to remove content from the Twitter platform. The news agency Reuters has published this report. According to the report, the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has warned Twitter that if it does not comply with the order to remove the tweets in January and April last year, then penal action will be taken against them. Only after this Twitter has approached the court.
According to the report, a person with knowledge of the matter has told that "In June, the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has written a letter to Twitter, warning of several actions for non-compliance, including criminal proceedings against the Chief Compliance Officer of Twitter." and has given Twitter a last opportunity to comply with the post block orders issued under section 69A of the IT Act."
According to the report, Twitter, in its request for judicial review, argued that certain orders are not in accordance with the procedural requirements of the IT Act of India.Twitter has been ordered by the Indian government to remove many Twitter posts and accounts in the last one year.
