The trailer of Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar released, entails elements of “Female-Foeticide” and “Ingrained Misogyny”

The trailer of Ranveer Singh starrer Jayeshbhai Jordaar has been released. The background of this film is based in Gujarat. The story of the film is about a social issue, in which Jayesh's parents want a son from him. The whole story revolves around this. Apart from Ranveer, Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah Shalani Pandey will also be seen in this. Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be released in theaters on May 13.
The movie is written and directed by Divyang Thakkar, Aditya Chopra, and Manish Sharma under Yash Raj Films. The movie was shot in Gujarat. It was initially scheduled to hit theatrical screens on 2 October 2020 coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, and then on 27 August 2021 and 25 February 2022, but the COVID pandemic led to its postponement.
At the beginning of the trailer, a girl child is complaining to the sarpanch (Boman Irani) about the alcoholism problem, and how eve-teasing near the schools has become a regular occurrence, on which the misogynistic sarpanch says, “If girls will put on fragrant soap, boys are bound to do all that, let’s ban soaps”, to which Ranvir Singh, who plays the Sarpanch’s son nods, though not wishfully. Things take a brutal turn when Ranvir’s wife is accepting another baby and Boman Irani and his wife, played by Rachna Pathak are ready to get the child aborted in case it is a girl. The trailer entailed an element and raised the light on the issue of female foeticide and ingrained misogyny which is still very much a part of India.
