Tragic Accident in Bathinda: 8 Killed as Bus Falls into Drain in Punjab
The incident took place near the village of Jiwan Singh Wala, in the district of Bathinda, where a bus fell into a drain after crashing from a bridge, currently, a rescue operation is underway.

Tragic Accident in Bathinda: Bathinda Urban MLA Jagroop Singh Gill said that at least eight people died due to bus accident in Punjab's Bathinda on Friday, adding that five died at the spot, while three succumbed to serious injuries during treatment.
Gill was informed on the situation by Bathinda civil surgeon Dr Ramandeep Singla when the MLA made a visit to the Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Civil Hospital in Bathinda city, where 18 injured passengers are currently being treated.

“Five died on the spot while three succumbed to serious injuries during treatment. Nearly 18 are being treated at the Shaheed Bhai Mani Singh Civil Hospital. The health officials have instructed to ensure treatment,” Gill told HT.
Near Jiwan Singh Wala village in Bathinda, a bus fell into a drain after crashing a bridge. Rescue operation is on with the help of NDRF, police and locals.
Bus coming from Talwandi Sabo to Bathinda city skidded and fell into a drain. Top civil and police officials are on the spot to supervise rescue operations.

Identification of the dead has not been confirmed by district authorities.
Eyewitnesses say this bus crashed through the railing of a bridge to fall into the filthy drain.
District officials said it was pouring in Bathinda at the time of accident and investigation is on for probing into causes of mishap.
Bathinda deputy commissioner Showkat Ahmad Parray mentioned that villagers rushed to rescue and could save lives immediately after the accident. Detailed investigation is being conducted to establish how many people were on board.
After the accident happened, district officials, including DC Parray and the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Amneet Kondal, rushed to the spot.
