Top Hezbollah Commander Behind Rocket Attack on Children Killed in Lebanon, Confirms Israel

Israel Hezbollah conflict news: On Saturday, Israel killed Hezbollah commander of the Nasser Brigade rocket unit in southern Lebanon named Jaafar Khader Faour, as per the official reports.
There has been no confirmation from Hezbollah about the Lebanon Hezbollah leader's death. The military reported that he was responsible for several attacks on Israel since October 2023.
In a statement, the Israeli defense force said, "Faour was responsible for multiple rocket attacks toward the Golan, including an attack that resulted in the deaths of Israeli civilians from Kibbutz Ortal, an attack on Majdal Shams which killed 12 children and injured many, and the rocket attack on Metula last Thursday, which resulted in the deaths of 5 civilians.”

IDF also confirmed that he was commanding the Hezbollah group that fired the air strikes at Israel on October 8.
Previously on Saturday, the Israeli forces had taken a top Hezbollah commander into custody in northern Lebanon. However, there have been no reports about the Hezbollah top commander's identity. An Israeli official said, "a senior operative of Hezbollah, who serves as an expert in his field, was apprehended".
The Lebanese government added that they are investigating to find whether Israel is the cause of the disappearance of a Lebanese sea captain who was captured by a group of armed men at the coast near the northern town of Batroun on Friday.

A military official told AP, without mentioning the name of the person, “The operative has been transferred to Israeli territory and is currently being investigated.”
Lebanese military also said the captured sea captain may have connections to Hezbollah. They are currently investigating to find out whether the captured captain is linked to Hezbollah or is a spy for the Israeli intelligence agency.
In a statement, Hezbollah described the incident as "Zionist aggression in the Batroun area," but did not mention any further updates or confirmation of the capture of the sea captain.
