Tendulkar took to his Twitter handle and tweeted, “To win a Test match without Virat, Rohit, Ishant & Shami is a terrific achievement.”
He added, “Loved the resilience and character shown by the team to put behind the loss in the 1st Test and level the series. Brilliant win. Well done TEAM INDIA!”

Other cricketers too expressed their feelings and complimented the team’s efforts. India has defeated Australia by 8 wickets in the second test match.
Former cricketer VVS Laxman said, “Lot of positives from this win. Rahane led the side brilliantly, bowlers were relentless but the biggest positive is the performance of two debutants.”
“Both of them were confident and not overawed by the big occasion. Strength of Indian cricket is their strong bench strength,” he said.
Rohit Sharma called the victory a, “Fantastic win for the Team India at the MCG.”
“Character and composure shown throughout the game was excellent to watch,” Sharma said.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah too congratulated the team and tweeted, “What a victory at Melbourne to level the series. Historic in every sense. Well played @ajinkyarahane88 @imjadeja @ashwinravi99 @RealShubmanGill @Jaspritbumrah93 Siraj and everyone in that dressing room for showing such resilience.”
The whole team of BCCI also congratulated the Indian team and praised Captain Ajinkya Rahane.
It tweeted, “Ajinkya Rahane is adjudged the Man of the Match for his stupendous performance (112 & 27*) in the Boxing Day.”
