Timing of filing of controversial petition by Wasim Rizvi is very important

Wasim Rizvi is known for triggering controversy and dramatic, pro-Modi government statements

Controversy is his second name. The ex-chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Central Waqf Board Waseem Rizvi has triggered yet another controversy today. He has filed a petition in the Supreme Court that Surah Fatah which has 26 aayats (verses) should be eliminated from The Quran, as it incites an act of terrorism as it speaks of victory at all costs. He also goes on to accuse three important Muslim Clliphs (leaders) of the Prophet Mohammad’s Hazrt Abu Baqr Siddiq, Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Usman for making changes in the Quran according to their whims and fancies, thereby, making changes in the Holy Book.

The controversy has caused a major uproar in both the Shia and Sunni Muslims who never had any differences over the impeccable integrity of the Quran.

Therefore, Maulana Kalbe Jawwad, the esteemed Shia Cleric, is the first one to react today. He has stated in the media that Wasim Rizvi should immediately be arrested for saying such words, and that Shias of the country and Shia Waqf Board alienates itself from appeal. The Shia Waqf Board has also slammed Rizvi for filing such a frivolous PIL.

The Supreme Court Advocate Mr. Mehmood Pracha says that Rizwi has been slapped various criminal against him filed by government which the present Yogi and BJP Government has also referred against him. There are dozens of cases against the Waqf theft on him. So, he is trying to escape a way out from that by being used as a pawn in the hands of some “Manuwaadi forces” to create a situation which could facilitate a polarisation between, not only the Shia and Sunni Muslims but also Hindus and Muslims in this country, which could be used for extracting maximum electoral benefit in the forthcoming elections. “Therefore, the timing of filing this petition is very important,” he asserts.

Shocking part in this case is, Pracha says, is that people are forced to take it seriously, “especially if we see from the backdrop of a recent decision of the Supreme Court on Babri Masjid. This is also a reflection on the functioning of the Supreme Court that such kind of absurd petitions are also taken seriously by some sections of the society. “

Notably, the PIl is directly in confrontation of the Constitution of India, which gives freedom to choose and exercise one’s religion in India. And this religion is not only has presence in India but across the globe, So, an Indian court cannot order removal of verses from the holy book.

“Therefore, the SC not should not only throw such PIL but also levy heavy fines on such frivolous PILs. It only wastes the courts’ precious time but also creates rift among the people and dis-balances harmony, he opines. Rizvi’s had created a previous controversy when he had announced that he would immolate himself in front of Ram temple at Ayodhya if Narendra Modi did not become prime minister of India again, on April 30th, 2019.

In a statement issued in Lucknow, Rizvi has said that fanatic Muslims were handing out life threats to him for supporting Ram temple and if Modi lost, he would have no other option but to commit suicide. “I will immolate myself near the gate of Ram temple in Ayodhya if anyone else becomes prime minister in 2019. I have always supported nationalism above any religion,” he had said.

Rizvi has remained in controversy ever since the Bharatiya Janata Party came to power in Uttar Pradesh and he openly supported the construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya.

He had also spoken against the madarsas earlier adding they teach terrorism to vulnerable minds and they brought corona to India.

Now the saner minds are asking if Rizvi can also explain all the 26 verses about  what is written in them, himself?
