Three new four lanes will be built in Gorakhpur
For Gorakhpur-Sonauli road and Jungle Kauria-Jagdishpur four lane, 573 hectares of land will be acquired in 96 villages. Rs 3400 crore is being spent on the construction of 80 km Gorakhpur-Sonauli road and 25 km Jungle Kauria-Jagdishpur four lane. 1800 hundred crores will be spent on Sonauli road and Rs 1600 crores will be spent on the construction of Jungle Kauria-Jagdishpur bypass. Tender for Sonauli Road has also been done. Preparations are underway to acquire 200 acres of land from 66 villages for this road and 373 acres in 30 villages for Jungle Kauria-Jagdishpur bypass.
Farmers will be given four times the circle rate in urban areas and two times in rural areas. There are few urban areas on Sonauli Road. According to NHAI, the area of Nagar Palika or Nagar Panchayat will be considered as urban. The Jungle Kauria-Jagdishpur bypass will pass through villages and Greenland. Therefore, even after acquiring more land on this road, the expenditure will be only Rs 500 crore.
