Third wave has begun in India, accelerated by "Omnicron"

Dr N K Arora, chairman of the Covid-19 working group of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation, has stated recently that, as per evidence the number of cases are increasing exponentially and this is the time when the third wave of Covid has started to devour India. However, some reports have hopes that this wave won't be as deadly as the second wave.
States all across the countries have imposed stringent regulations, from night curfews to weekend lockdowns to contain the spread. Organizations have also resumed Work From Home for their employees. Soumya Swaminathan, chief scientist at the World Health Organisation, warned that “India could have a big surge. The next two weeks will tell us.” Citizens all across the nation are being advised to stay vigilant and stay indoors if there isn't a compulsion.
Dr N K Arora had recently mentioned that the third wave won't be as brutal as the second wave, by taking an analogy of South Africa, where the Omnicron spread exponentially but a majority of the cases were asymptotic and mild. The population of India is young, and the vaccination rate is way more than South Africa, and therefore we should not panic. The wave is on the verge of ending in Africa now. We must stay vigilant and follow all the necessary Covid precautions.
