Delhi Water Minister Satyendar Jain held a board meeting with Jal Board officials on Monday. In this, discussions were held to make water bill payment robust and transparent. He later said that the government is rectifying the loopholes related to bill payment. In this sequence, now more than 20 services related to consumers will be online in a planned manner in the Zonal Revenue Offices (ZROs). Therefore people will be able to take advantage of the services of Jal Board sitting at home.
He said that the Delhi government is going to make all the zonal revenue offices of the Jal Board faceless. With this, consumers will not have to go to the zonal offices for getting water and sewer connection, bill payment etc. Applications for water and sewer connections and bill payments can be made through the Jal Board's portal and mSewa mobile phone app.
He has appealed to the consumers to make maximum use of the online portal to take advantage of the services of Jalboard. Help desks will also be set up in their offices to explain the online facility system to the consumers. The officials of Jalboard have also been directed to create a back end portal, in which billing records etc. will be present along with photographs. This will bring transparency in the bill payment process. It will be monitored by the Chief Executive Officer and senior officers of the Jal Board.
