The Tamil Nadu family is throws a party for their dog.

A family in Theni District, Tamil Nadu, took a step forward to show affection to their dog by hosting a baby shower for her. The dog also has a garland around his neck. The photo appears to be from a ritual that was performed as part of the dog's baby shower.

Kumaresan is a resident of Uppukottai and has a son and a daughter for whom he got a puppy when they were young. However, as time passed by, they adopted additional and more dogs and currently they need a complete of ten doggos.

Silk was a puppy when Kumaresan brought her home three years ago. When Silk got some discomfort, Kumaresan took her to a vet who informed her that she was pregnant and would give birth to puppies in three months.

Kumaresan' family decided to carry a baby shower for Silk and invited their relatives too. it had been a grand ceremony that was quite shocking to the neighbours as Silk was adorned in new clothes, fed 5 differing types of rice, made to wear bangles, and so on.

”Kumaresan said, I have had dogs since childhood. More than a pet, they have always been a member of our family. Everything we eat, we share with our pets. So when we found out Silk was pregnant, we wanted to throw a good baby shower."
