Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level review meeting with officers on Thursday evening amid increasing cases of Omicron, a new variant of Corona in the country. The meeting, which started at 6.30 pm, lasted for about an hour. The meeting was attended by officials from various departments including the Health Ministry.
To stop the growing case of Omicron in the meeting, the prime minister's main focus was on 3 things. The PM took information about the situation so far in the meeting and also understood the preparations of the government. After this, the officers were instructed to increase the stock of medicines and oxygen. Along with increasing testing and tracing, emphasis has been laid on improving the health infrastructure.
The PM asked for maximum use of IT tools for the supply of vaccines and medicines in remote areas. Modi told the officers that it is important for the states to ensure that the oxygen supply equipments are fully functional. There should be no negligence in this.
The PM also asked to work expeditiously towards increasing the vaccination across the country. Modi instructed the officers to identify those districts where the condition of vaccination is not good yet. He told the officers that they should talk to the state about the problems faced in vaccination and fix it at the earliest and focus on vaccinating more and more people.
