The light of development is bright in Gujarat', Smriti Iran's attack on Arvind Kejriwal

Union Minister Smriti Irani on Saturday alleged that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is showing new dreams and lying to the people during the election campaign in Gujarat. The Union Women and Child Development Minister said that the women of this state will never vote for Kejriwal to support those plotting to deprive Gujarat and Gujarati people of Narmada dam water.

Addressing the members of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) women's wing in Ahmedabad, she said the AAP national convener had honored those who had conspired to deprive people of Narmada water. He also accused AAP of trying to buy BJP workers on the basis of money. Irani alleged that Kejriwal is contesting the upcoming elections by spreading lies about the people of Gujarat, but he will taste defeat like he lost to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

She said, "Now he is in Gujarat to show new dreams and spread lies. I want to tell the contestants here that Prime Minister Modi has given the gift of Vande Bharat and Ahmedabad metro train to Gujarat and Gujarati people, but yours ( The truth of AAP is that you are involved in the scam in the purchase of DTC bus in Delhi."

Describing Kejriwal as the "sapnagar of Delhi",Smriti Irani said that as Gujarat chief minister, Modi had fought to ensure that women got clean drinking water from the Narmada river and that every family had water security. She said that on the other hand, Kejriwal honored those who tried to deprive the people of Gujarat and its people from Narmada water.

It is noteworthy that the assembly elections in Gujarat are due in December this year. Irani said, "Kejriwal is visiting Gujarat with darkness, but he should listen carefully that there is such a bright light of development in Gujarat that he will go blind. These women are not going to fall for him. They are like lotus. They will vote on the mark and once again bring BJP to power."
