The law minister again made a scathing attack to the Indian Constitution
During this, he also said that the government respects this process because according to the democratic system of the country, no one can adopt the judiciary. During this, he also claimed that the Supreme Court has formed the collegium during a hearing at its discretion.

The collegium system, the process adopted for the appointment of judges in the country's judiciary, is in a lot of discussions these days where the central government is talking about amendment in it, the Supreme Court is continuously defending this process. Meanwhile, once again today i.e. on Friday, the Law Minister has launched a scathing attack on the collegium system. Speaking at an event, he said that the collegium system is alien to the Constitution of India. During this, he also said that the government respects this process because according to the democratic system of the country, no one can adopt the judiciary. During this, he also claimed that the Supreme Court has formed the collegium during a hearing at its discretion.
In a fresh attack, the law minister said the Constitution of India is a "religious document" for everyone, especially the government. Something which is different from the constitution, just because the court and some judges have decided how can you assume that the whole country supports it. Rijiju asked, you tell under which provision the collegium system has been prescribed. He clarified that the government has to do due diligence after the recommendation is sent from the collegium of the Supreme Court or the High Court.
The minister said, the then government in 1991 and the present dispensation highly respect the collegium system until a better system is established. He said that he would not get into the debate as to what this system should be like. This requires a better platform or a better position. The Union Law and Justice Minister said that the executive and the judiciary are like brothers. They should not fight with each other. The central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has never weakened the authority of the judiciary. They will always make sure that the freedom remains untouched and is enhanced.
