The Indian History associated with Fourth of July : Important incident to be known

4 July History: Every year on 4 July, the death anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is observed in India. Swami Vivekananda was a renowned and influential spiritual leader of Vedanta. His real name was Narendra Nath Datta. It is said that Swami Vivekananda attained Mahasamadhi on 4 July 1902 while meditating, with a ruptured blood vessel in his brain believed to be the possible cause of death, according to his disciples.

History associated with 4 July in India:

1760 - Miran, son of Mir Jafar, died on 4 July 1760 due to lightning strike near the Gandak river.

1789 - The East India Company signed a treaty against Tipu Sultan with the Peshwa and Nizam on 4 July 1789.

1879 - Freedom fighter Basudev Balvant Phadke was arrested on 4 July 1879.

1897 - Renowned freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju was born on 4 July 1897.

1898 - Former acting Prime Minister of India, Gulzari Lal Nanda, was born on 4 July 1898.

1916 - Famous Hindi cinema actress Naseem Banu was born on 4 July 1916.

1943 - Indian linguist, lexicographer, philologist, translator, and cultural critic Vimalaesh Kant Varma, who made significant contributions in the fields of linguistics, dictionary making, text analysis, translation, and cultural studies, was born on 4 July 1943.

1945 - Bollywood actor Sushil Kumar was born on 4 July 1945.

1963 - Pingali Venkayya, the freedom fighter who designed the Indian national flag, passed away on 4 July 1963.

1979 - Construction of the famous Vidyasagar Setu, also known as the Second Hooghly Bridge in Kolkata, started on 4 July 1979.

1982 - Bharat Vyas, a renowned lyricist of the Bollywood film industry, passed away on 4 July 1982.

2001 - India issued directions for the release of Pakistani citizens (prisoners) on 4 July 2001. 2006 - Gerhard Fischer, recipient of the Gandhi Peace Prize and former German Ambassador to India, passed away on 4 July 2006.
