The earthquake occurred on Sunday, January 8 at around 11.15 pm. Earlier on January 5 also earthquake tremors were felt. The intensity was recorded at 5.9 on the Richter scale.

The land of Jammu and Kashmir was shaken by the tremors of the earthquake on Thursday. According to reports, earthquake tremors were felt in two districts of Jammu and Kashmir, Kishtwar and Doda today. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 3.2 on the Richter scale. At present, there is no news of loss of life or property due to this earthquake which occurred at 12.4 pm. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Doda district, 10 kilometers inside the ground.
According to reports, people came out of their homes in many areas due to the tremors which lasted for a few seconds. A few days back, earthquake tremors were felt in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, whose intensity was 3.6 on the Richter scale. The earthquake occurred on Sunday, January 8 at around 11.15 pm.
