After the announcement of election dates in five states on January 8, the Election Commission had banned rallies and public meetings till January 15. It was said that after the review, the decision will be taken. After a review on January 15, the ban was extended till January 22.

The commission has increased the number of people for door-to-door campaigns to 10, earlier it was 5. For Phase One, the meeting of political parties or candidates can be done at the designated open space with a limit of 500 people or 50% of the ground capacity as per the guidelines. This will be possible from January 28 to February 8. For Phase Two, this exemption will be from February 1 to February 12.

The limit of people for indoor meetings has been fixed at 300 or 50% of the hall capacity as per the guidelines.Video vans can be used for publicity in open spaces. Vans in open spaces cannot be more than 500 visitors or more than 50% of the capacity of the space as per guidelines. There should be no hindrance to traffic and people during this time.
