The AamAadmi Party will run for all 182 seats in the Gujarat assembly elections in 2022.
The AamAadmi Party, led by Arvind Kejriwal, has previously struggled to gain traction at the national level, with the exception of Punjab, where it emerged as the biggest opposition party in the 2017 assembly elections. Last December, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that he would run for the 2018 UP assembly elections.

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the AamAadmi Party (AAP) and the Delhi chief minister, announced on Monday that the party will run for all seats in the Gujarat legislative assembly elections in 2022. In Ahmedabad, he was speaking at a press conference. "All seats will be contested by our candidates," Kejriwal remarked.
"People in Gujarat believe that if Delhi can have free power, why can't we? Similarly, the state of hospitals in our country has not improved in 70 years. However, things are about to change " he added “In Gujarat, both the Congress and the BJP have been partners in crime for the past 27 years. When the BJP is in difficulties, the Congress steps in to assist and bail them out. What are the chances of this being accepted? During his visit, Kejriwal told reporters, "AAP is the honest option that Gujarat has been waiting for."
He had already announced his travel to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home turf by tweeting in Gujarati, "Now Gujarat will change."

It should be mentioned that in the Gujarat civic body elections earlier this year, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party emerged as the primary opposition. The AAP gained 27 seats in the 120-member Surat Municipal Corporation for the first time (SMC).
In the presence of party president Arvind Kejriwal, popular Gujarati journalist IsudanGadhvi joined the AamAadmi Party today, as the Delhi Chief Minister announced that his party will contest all seats in the state Assembly elections next year.

Kejriwal's visit comes just a day after two diametrically opposed Patidar (Patel) sects - Kadva Patel and Leuva Patel - got together in Rajkot's Kagwad to applaud AAP.
Since its formation in 2013, the AAP has been attempting to gain traction in Gujarat. The AAP ran candidates in all 26 Lok Sabha seats in 2014, while in the 2017 assembly elections, it ran candidates in 29 seats. On both occasions, the party drew a blank.
