The 78th Golden Globe awards 2021 – the first virtual show

It was the first virtual Golden Globe Awards this time. It happened a day ago in America. Founded in 1944, the awards recognises excellence in film both American and international and American television. These awards are bestowed by 87 members of Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The 78th Golden Globe awards 2021 – the first virtual show

It was the first virtual Golden Globe Awards this time. It happened a day ago in America. Founded in 1944, the awards recognises excellence in film both American and international and American television. These awards are bestowed by 87 members of Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The 2021 Golden Globe Awards this time has reminded the audiences once again, of America’s favourite and often controversial royal family, and its important members Prince Charles and Princess Dianna. As playing them, Emma Corrin and Josh O'Connor bagged their first Globes as Princess Diana and Prince Charles respectively for the Best TV series (drama) titled The Crown, which swept a stack of other awards too.

This has sent quite a wave in the US as well as other nations, more than other films and actors, this film has grabbed much eye balls and is much talked about too.

Operah Winfrey’s first interview with Duke Harris, and his wife Megan, is due release on March 7, also talks about their views on the controversy and the duo parents, Charles and Diana.

Among the other 2021 Golden Globes newsmaker is Chloé Zhao who made history, by becoming the first woman director of Asian descent to win a Golden Globe with Nomadland, which also won best movie (drama).

Late Chadwick Boseman was honoured with a win posthumously, for his role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

The Queen's Gambit also nabbed two awards, for best limited series and best actress in a limited series for Anya Taylor-Joy.

I Care a Lot's Rosamund Pike won best actress (musical or comedy), and Ted Lasso's Jason Sudeikis won best actor in a TV series (musical or comedy). Borat Subsequent Moviefilm beat out Hamilton to take home best movie (musical or comedy).

Mark Ruffalo and John Boyega's won acting awards for TV performances. The Trial of the Chicago 7 saw Aaron Sorkin win best screenplay. Check out the full list of winners below.
