Tata Group's airline Air India made a big announcement on Monday. It was said by the company that 12 new aircraft will be inducted in the first half of 2023. It will have A320 Neo and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The statement issued by the company said that these aircraft will be used in short, medium and long distance international flights. In January this year, the airline had announced the addition of 42 new aircraft to the fleet following its acquisition by Tata. These aircraft to be inducted will be six wide-body Boeing 777 -300ER and six narrow-body Airbus A320neo.
The B777-300 ER aircraft that will be inducted by the company will be used to connect major cities of the country with international routes. These aircraft will have four classes (First Class, Business, Premium Economy and Economy). Some time ago, it was told by Air India that the company is going to start premium economy class in the country soon. Whereas, the Airbus Neo320 will be used by the airline for domestic flight operations and some short-haul international flights.
Along with inducting new aircraft, Air India is also working to repair aircraft that are grounded due to lack of parts. So far 19 such aircraft have been rectified. Apart from this, nine other such aircraft can also join the fleet in the coming times.
