“Talibani mentality” on women will not be tolerated in India: Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi
Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi expressed his views on the issues while addressing the “Minorities Day Celebration” programme organised by the National Commission for Minorities, NCM, in New Delhi on December 18.

Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has criticised people who have raised their objections to the removal of triple talaq or restriction on Muslim women to perform Haj with Mehram.
He expressed his views on the issues while addressing the “Minorities Day Celebration” programme organised by the National Commission for Minorities, NCM, in New Delhi on December 18.
Naqvi said that that the present government will not tolerate the “Talibani mentality” on women's liberty, dignity, empowerment and constitutional equality in India.
“Those who opposed making the social evil of Triple Talaq a crime or raised question on removal of restriction on Muslim women to perform Haj with Mehram only and now creating commotion on the Constitutional equality regarding the age of marriage of women are “Professional Protesters” of the essence of the Indian Constitution,” Naqvi said.
He added, “The Government has demolished “Duping Appeasement” by “Determination to Development with Dignity”.”
He said that the current government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the overall development of all sections of the society as it works on the principle of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”.
He asserted that the government has been working on this principle for the past seven years and has ensured that socio-economic-educational, religious and other rights of Minorities are absolutely safe and secure in the country.
“While on one hand, believers of almost all religions of the world live in India; on the other hand, a large number of atheists also exist in the country with dignity and equal constitutional and social rights,” he added.
