Take action against Amazon for providing bomb raw material: CAIT on Pulwama attack

As the country is remembering its Bravehearts who were martyred in the Pulwama attack, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has demanded action against the e-commerce giant Amazon.
According to CAIT, the government should take action against the portal for playing a role in the Feb 14th, 2019 strike which killed 40 CRPF Jawaans and injured another 35.
CAIT National President B C Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal said, “The National Investigating Agency ( NIA) on 7th February, 202O disclosed that attackers who prepared bomb used in Pulwama attack sourced the required raw material through Amazon Shopping portal to prepare the Improvised Explosive Devices ( IED’s) used in the Pulwama suicide attack.”
“Though it was a crystal clear disclosure made by Govt’s own Agency, no action has been taken against Amazon for facilitating the purchase of prohibited articles. It is highly regretted that big companies and giants are always spared from the clutches of the Govt even for the serious nature of the violation of laws & rules be it the facilitation of Ammonium Nitrate in the Pulwama attack or procurement of Ganja and poison in Madhya Pradesh. The Governments have given all kinds of immunity to these global giants, which is a cause of worry,” they added.
They said that after a thorough investigation NIA had arrested one Waiz- Ul- Islam of Srinagar who bought various chemicals, but no action was taken against Amazon who is equally responsible for failing to check the authenticity of the buyer and gross negligence for allowing a particular person to accumulate all kind of chemicals.
