T20 World Cup 2024: As the whole world enjoys the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 payoffs, the semi-final match between South Africa and Afghanistan on Thursday, June 27 was in SA's favor.
South Africa defeated Afghanistan by 9 wickets (67 balls were remaining) in the semi-final match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
However, it was a very important match for South Africa as they advanced to the finals after winning the match.
The semi-final match of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 between South Africa and Afghanistan was held at Trinidad's Brian Lara Stadium.

The semi-final match began as Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 56 runs and was all out in the 11.5 over.
Pacer Marco Jansen and Left-arm wrist-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi were the key players for SA in the semi-final match as he took key wickets in the first innings itself.
Pacer Marco Jansen took 3 wickets and gave only 16 runs, on the other hand, Left-arm wrist-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi also took three wickets and gave only 6 runs.
Also, fast bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje supported the team by taking two wickets each and stopped Afghanistan in only 56 runs.

However, when South Africa's batting turn came, the iconic batter Quinton de Kock was bowled by Afghanistan bowler Fazalhaq Farooqi and faced an early departure.
South Africa batter Quinton de Kock scored only 5 runs in 8 balls.
But Captain Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks's partnership led the team to a victory.
Captain Aiden Markram scored 23 runs in 21 balls and Reeza Hendricks scored 29 runs in 25 balls which led the South Africa team to win the match against Afghanistan in the 8.5 over.
As South Africa defeated Afghanistan they have now advanced to the Finals which is going to be on Saturday, June 29 at Kensington Oval Barbados against the team who will win the second semi-final match between India and England.
