Sweden Shooting: At least five persons were shot at an adult education center in Sweden Tuesday, the Associated Press reported, citing police. It was initially unclear if a suspect was arrested with regard to this incident.
The level of injury to the victims was also not immediately clear. This incident supposedly occurred at the Campus Risbergska, an adult educational center located in the city of Orebro, about 200 kilometers west of Stockholm.
According to the campus website, the school admits people over 20 years. The college provides both primary and upper secondary programs and has Swedish for immigrants; vocational training; and programs for persons with intellectual disabilities.
Students were being sheltered in a nearby building as the shooting was taking place while parts of the school were evacuated after the shooting.
“The reports of violence in Orebro are very serious. The police are on site and the operation is in full swing. The government is in close contact with the police, and is closely following developments,” Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer told Swedish news agency TT.
"The attempted murder, arson and aggravated weapons offense," the police said in the statement through Reuters.
Ambulances, police, and rescue services were on-site. Police added that "the danger is not over. The public MUST stay away" while the operations were on in the campus of the education center.
According to police, students in nearby schools were kept in lock-up "for safety reasons".

According to local Swedish media, local hospitals emptied their emergency rooms and ICU units in anticipation of the incoming wounded.
"We have received four patients but cannot say anything about the condition of the injured, but they were admitted to the emergency room at Orebro University Hospital," an Orebro region spokesperson told Reuters.
School attacks are rare in the area, but several serious incidents have taken place in recent years.
According to AFP, an 18-year-old in March 2022 had stabbed two teachers to death at a high school in the southern city of Malmo.
Two months earlier, a 16-year-old was arrested for injuring a student and a teacher with a knife in Kristianstad town.
