Swatantra Dev Singh resigns from BJP state president of UP
There was speculation about the appointment of a new state president in UP for the last three months. Swatantradev has resigned from the post of president only after completion of three years' term. In Yogi Sarkar 2.0, there was also talk of making Swatantra Dev as Deputy CM.

According to sources, Swatantra Dev Singh has resigned from the BJP state president of UP. He is currently the Minister of Jal Shakti in the UP government. The three-year term as BJP state president was over. In 2019, he was made the state president of BJP. The search for the state president of UP has started. The new state president of BJP may be announced by next week. It has been a tradition in BJP that one person cannot hold two posts. At present, apart from being the state president, Swatantra Dev is also the minister of party power.
Swatantra Dev was appointed as the Uttar Pradesh BJP President on July 16, 2019. His three-year term ended on July 16, 2022. He is currently the Minister of Jal Shakti in the state government.
