Meet Swapnil Kusale: Shooting Star at Paris Olympics 2024
Swapnil Kusale was born into a family of farmers in 1995. In 2009 the father of Kusale enrolled him in the Maharashtra government's primary program dedicated to sports, Krida Prabhodini.

Swapnil Kusale was born into a family of farmers in 1995. In 2009 the father of Kusale enrolled him in the Maharashtra government's primary program dedicated to sports, Krida Prabhodini. After a year of hard training, he had to choose one Sport and he ended up choosing shooting. He doesn't have enough experience yet but has shown impeccable performance in a limited period of time and limited tournaments.

In the 2015 Asian Shooting Championships in Kuwait, Swapnil Kusale won gold in 50m rifle prone 3 in the junior category and the 59th National Shooting Championship held in Tughlakabad ahead of Gagan Narang and Chain Singh in the 50m rifle prone event.
He maintained the same form in in 61st National Championship in Thiruvananthapuram by winning gold in the 50m rifle 3 position.
On 22 October 2022, Swapnil Kusale won an Olympic quota berth in the men’s 50-meter rifle 3-position event with fourth place at the World Championship in Cairo Egypt he missed the 3rd position just because of a few points from Hermann Hegg of Norway.

Swapnil Kusale was accepted into Team India for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics But earlier that season he won a silver at the world championship held in Baku. In the 50m rifle 3 positions after taking part in final trials in Bhopal. He and Aishwary Pratap Tomar were selected for the Olympics vent held in Paris.
Swapnil Kusale in an interview said "I have not yet realised my dreams but I am working towards achieving them. I fervently wish that the dreams are realised soon." he added "Right now, we are following the process and that is what we are focussed on,"
When asked about dietary restrictions he responded "I do not consider it an issue but a part of my life. I do not really need to take any precautions with regard to my diet at the present time. I know what food is good for my body and I choose to eat that. So, I consider that normal," said Swapnil
