Swami Chinmayanand did not appear in the court despite the order of the Supreme Court

In this, he has been asked to appear in the court on December 9.

Former Union Minister of State for Home Swami Chinmayanand Saraswati did not appear in the special MP-MLA (MP-MLA) court in Shahjahanpur on Thursday despite the order of the Supreme Court. The court has asked the police to arrest them and produce them in the court on December 9. Neelima Saxena, special government advocate of the MP-MLA court, said that the court has again issued an arrest warrant against Swami Chinmayanand on Thursday in a case of sexual abuse lodged against him by his disciple in the city police station. In this, he has been asked to appear in the court on December 9. She said that Swami Chinmayanand had appealed in the High Court to withdraw the case, which after being dismissed, she appealed in the Supreme Court but from there too his appeal was rejected.
Saxena said that the Supreme Court had directed him to appear in the Shahjahanpur court by November 30, but he did not appear. Saxena told that Chinmayanand was to appear in the MP-MLA court of Shahjahanpur on Thursday, but he did not appear. On this, his advocate gave an application in the court and said that Swami Chinmayanand has filed an application for anticipatory bail in the High Court, which is to be heard on December 6, so he should be given time to appear but MP-MLA court judge Asma Sultana refused to give time.
The court directed the police to arrest Swami Chinmayanand and produce him before the court on December 9. It is worth mentioning that in 2011, a case of sexual exploitation was filed by his disciple on Swami Chinmayanand, former Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and founder of Mumukshu Ashram. In the year 2018, the Uttar Pradesh government had sent a letter to the court through the District Magistrate to withdraw this case of sexual abuse, but the victim objected and requested the court that she did not want to withdraw the case. Thereafter, the application for withdrawal of the suit was dismissed. Along with this, a bailable warrant was issued against Swami Chinmayanand.
