Supreme Court to hear Ratan Tata's plea regarding Radia tape leak

After eight years, the Supreme Court will hear the petition of industrialist Ratan Tata, seeking a probe into the 2010 audio tape leak involving Nira Radia. Ratan Tata has said that the tape leak is a violation of his right to privacy.

In August 2012, Ratan Tata had asked the Supreme Court for a copy of a report filed by the government detailing how the tapes had leaked. This controversy later became known as the "Radia Tape" controversy.
Ratan Tata's conversation with Nira Radia had surfaced in the media in the year 2010. After this, he reached the court against the government and said that releasing the tapes is a violation of his right to privacy.
