Sri lanka Crisis: President Rajapaksa resigns, situation still uncontrollable
All the political parties of Sri Lanka have decided to unite to form the government and how effective that decision is, only time will tell.

Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa resigned on Monday. His resignation will be publicly announced by the Speaker of Parliament on Wednesday. Rajapaksa is still in the country and guarded by the military at an undisclosed location, the Daily Mirror reported. However, even after this, the protesters are adopting a militant attitude. The public is facing a lot of problems with basic goods, so there is a lot of resentment among the people.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has fled after protesters entered Rashtrapati Bhavan and will now step down on July 13, while Sri Lanka's new president will be elected on July 20, while Sajith Premadasa has been appointed interim president.
The demand for bicycles in Sri Lanka has increased amid fuel shortage in the country. A customer in Colombo said, 'We cannot afford petrol or the time taken in queues, even staying in queues does not guarantee that petrol will be available, so many people turned to bicycles and public transport'.
