Sri Lanka Crisis : Gotabaya Rajapaksa is haunted by fear of life in Maldives, preparing to go to Singapore by private jet

The situation in Sri Lanka has worsened due to the emergency and people's demonstrations. Meanwhile, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who has already left Sri Lanka and reached Maldives, fearing public protests. They are planning to go from Maldives to Singapore and for this they are demanding private jet from the Maldivian government. Actually, the President of Sri Lanka is also facing heavy opposition in Maldives. That's why Gotabaya Rajapaksa has asked the Maldivian government for a private jet to go to Singapore. 

According to media reports, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa can leave the Maldives at any time for Singapore. Gotabaya, who is facing protests in Maldives, fears for his life there. In such a situation, he had asked for a private jet from the Maldivian government. In fact, Gotabaya Rajapaksa was about to catch a flight from Maldives to Singapore on Wednesday night itself, but here too he canceled due to heavy protests. He left his flight. Hence the demand for private jets.

The Maldives National Party (MNP) has expressed displeasure over the government's decision to allow the Sri Lankan President to visit the Maldives and said it would seek clarification from the government by making a proposal in this regard. MNP leader and former Maldivian Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon said that it is very disappointing that the Maldivian government does not take into account the sentiments of the people of Sri Lanka.
