Sri Lanka Crisis: Center convenes all-party meeting on July 19 amid requests for intervention in Sri Lanka crisis
During Sunday's meeting, both the DMK and the AIADMK raised the issue related to the situation in Sri Lanka and the Tamil population in particular in that country.

The Central Government has called an all-party meeting on Tuesday on the Sri Lanka crisis, in which Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and S Jaishankar will give information about the situation there. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi gave this information. Tamil Nadu parties Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) demanded India's intervention in the neighboring country's affairs during an all-party meeting called on Sunday ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament facing economic crisis.
After the meeting, DMK leader M Thambidurai told reporters that India should intervene to resolve the Sri Lankan crisis. DMK leader TR Baalu also sought India's intervention in resolving the current situation in Sri Lanka.
The ongoing protest movement in Sri Lanka completed 100 days on Sunday. Due to the fierce agitation, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had to resign. Now amidst the economic crisis, the people of the country are waiting for the formation of the new government. It is noteworthy that Gotabaya Rajapaksa fled his residence shortly before the attack by protesters at the end of last week. At the same time, on Thursday, he resigned from the post of President.
