Sri Lanka asked China to postpone its ship's voyage, took steps after pressure from India

Sri Lanka has asked China to postpone the voyage of its ship indefinitely. According to the report, Sri Lanka has taken this decision under pressure from India. The tension between India and China is expected to increase once again. The ship of China is moving towards the port of Sri Lanka. A China Research and Survey Ship is expected to arrive at Hambantota Port in southern Sri Lanka on August 11. The ship has a crew of 400 people. Also, a large parabolic antenna is installed on it and many types of sensors are present. Responding to this development, India has said that it is monitoring the situation.

Sri Lanka's Defense Ministry spokesman Col Nalin Herath had said that Sri Lanka fully understands India's concern as the ship is capable of monitoring military installations but it is a routine exercise. He had said that the Naval Ships of India, China, Russia, Japan and Malaysia have requested us from time to time, so we have given permission to China. Sri Lanka said that only when a nuclear capable ship is coming, we can deny permission. It is not a nuclear capable ship." He said that China informed Sri Lanka that they were sending the ship for surveillance and navigation in the Indian Ocean. Chinese ship Yuan Wang 5) Permission was requested from Sri Lanka for refueling. Col Herath said, "China has told us that they are sending their ship for surveillance and navigation in the Indian Ocean region, its stop time is from 11 to 17 August.

Sources in the Defense Ministry of Sri Lanka had told that the Chinese ship is a very capable and advanced naval vessel. Sources say that India is worried because it is capable of monitoring nuclear power plants and military bases. A person with direct knowledge of the matter told on the condition of anonymity, "We know that India and China are competing with each other for influence in the Indian Ocean but China has to understand this. It is also his duty to inform India in such a situation. Anyway, this is not the first time that a Chinese ship is entering our waters."
