SpiceJet's cargo plane going to China returns to Kolkata after radar fails
According to officials of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the aviation regulator is probing all the seven incidents. According to officials, there were 138 passengers on the Dubai-bound flight, while the number of passengers on the 78-seat Q-400 aircraft belonging to the Kandla-Mumbai flight was not immediately known.

SpiceJet's cargo plane going to Chongqing city of China returned to Kolkata due to non-functioning weather radar system. This information was given on behalf of SpiceJet spokesperson. SpiceJet said its cargo plane, which was bound for Chongqing in China, returned to Kolkata on Tuesday because the pilots realized after taking off that their weather radar was not working. This is at least the eighth incident of a technical snag in a SpiceJet aircraft in the last 18 days.
A SpiceJet spokesperson told PTI on Wednesday that "On July 5, 2022, a SpiceJet Boeing 737 frighter was scheduled to operate from Kolkata to Chongqing. After take-off, the weather radar was not showing the weather. The pilot-in-command decided to return to Kolkata.The aircraft landed safely in Kolkata.
On Tuesday, the airline's Delhi-Dubai flight was diverted to Karachi due to a fault in the fuel indicator and its Kandla-Mumbai flight was grounded in the Maharashtra capital on a priority basis following a windshield crack in mid-air. However, another plane was sent from Mumbai for the stranded passengers at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport and it left for Dubai after waiting for about 11 hours.
