Spicejet plane returned midway after technical glitch, cases of technical glitches are coming to the fore
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Wednesday canceled the registration of two more Boeing-737 aircraft of SpiceJet. Along with this, the registration of six Boeing-737 aircraft of the airline, which provided economical services in August, has been cancelled.

A SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Nashik in Maharashtra returned midway on Thursday morning after a technical snag. The plane took off from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. An official of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) gave this information. "The Delhi-Nashik flight of SpiceJet suffered an autopilot problem on its way on Thursday, due to which the plane returned midway," the official said. And DGCA has also issued show cause notice to the airline. The aviation safety regulator had on July 27 ordered that the airline will operate a maximum of 50 per cent flights for eight weeks.
Shares of airline SpiceJet fell nearly 15 per cent in early trade on Thursday. Earlier, the company had said that it had incurred a loss of Rs 789 crore in the June quarter. The company's stock fell 14.65 per cent to Rs 39.60 on the BSE, though it recovered some later and was trading at Rs 43.60, a decline of 6.03 per cent. SpiceJet had informed on Wednesday that it had a net loss of Rs 789 crore in the June quarter. It had a loss of Rs 729 crore in June 2021. The airline is facing financial crunch and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has issued a show-cause notice to it following incidents of lapses in its aircraft in the last few months.

According to a senior DGCA official, the registration of Boeing 737-800 aircraft VT-SPU and Boeing 737-900ER aircraft VT-SGQ under the Irrevocable De-registration and Export Request Authority (IDERA) has been canceled on August 31. Under the Cape Town Treaty, if a default occurs, the lessor and the lender may deregister the leased aircraft. Such requests are made under IDERA.
