The South West District of Delhi police is giving emphasis on watch over and patrolling scheme, Operation Satark in order to curb the sale and supply of illicit liquor.
In the last 24 hours, South West District has nabbed two bootleggers in two different cases of police stations of South West District.
During patrolling under the #OperationSatark scheme, the staff of police station RK Puram comprising Sub Inspector Tirath Pal and Constable Dharamraj has arrested one bootlegger namely C. Rangan @Lengra @Mohd Javed @Anna who was selling illicit liquor.
“8 Cartoons (50 qtrs. each) and 26 quarters (A total of 426 quarters 180ml each) were found in his possession. He was booked under Delhi Excise Act. He is previously involved in more than 50 cases of Excise Act and other offences,” Gaurav Sharma, DCP, South West District, New Delhi, said.
During intensive combing operation under scheme #OperationSatark in the area of police station Sagarpur staff comprising Head Constable Ram Singh and Constables Achin, Surender and Meera, one lady bootlegger has been arrested after recovery of 20 corrugated boxes of the illicit country made illicit liquor (A total of 1000 quarters 180ml each) for sale in Haryana from her possession. She was booked under Delhi Excise Act. The accused is a BC and has been involved in 40 cases previously.
